Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his home with volunteering in the community. First family, he's the youngest of nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. The family lived on a farm in Eufala, Oklahoma. In football, he played alongside three brothers in Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was one of the starters for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for all of the nation. He won two championships and 32-1-1 in his three seasons as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. Selmon was honored when the National Football Foundation named him as a Scholar-Athlete three times time in 1975. Selmon obtained his degree in education. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week throughout his college years. After graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa which is where he played for nine years playing with the Buccaneers. There were three times, he was selected All-Pro. Then he began his business career. In 1988, he was an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also a part of the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him one of the nation's most outstanding young males. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing 256 pounds. He captained his college team in 1975. In 1993 he joined his current position at University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
