Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who managed to move between the genres of country and mainstream culture, and has become an idol of the world of pop. Swift also took on every continent during the course of her journey. Swift shed her country roots as though they were part of her skin to reveal that she was arguably the smartest pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, someone who was able to harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal and also perform the reverse. Swift's early songs, including their neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. However, her album Fearless revealed a songwriter who was beginning to discover herself, and was able to draw a wide audience. Fearless was an enormous success not just in the United States where it's Top Ten singles Love Story and Belong with Me helped it to break six platinum records however, it also swept the world. It was a huge success across Canada, Australia and the U.K. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago, consolidated her prior successes, propelling the singer into superstardom. Her popularity only increased with her following three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017) -- and saw her move confidently into a pop realm in which she was already a part. She stayed in the forefront of pop even after she changed her own style on her sister albums folklore & Evermore in the year 2020.
